#Inktober Day 15 "Mysterious"
Hi again,
Second post of the day for #inktober2017, this is day 15, with the official prompt "Mysterious".
This is a character most won't know (unless you read comics, a lot of comics...) His name is The Question and he can be found in the pages of DC Comics.

#Inktober Day 14 "Fierce"
Hey people, how goes it?!
Just finished my drawing for #inktober2017 day 14 (yep, still waaaay behind...)
I decided to print out the initial pencils and ink over them, this was an excellent idea as it freed up the worry of making mistakes and let me just enjoy playing around and trying things out.
And because of this new found freedom I decided to put the brush markers down and try out some crosshatching instead, this is now something I think I'll do a lot more often as I was pretty pleased with the look of the end result.

#Inktober Day 13 "Teeming"
Hello" *Sniff*
Came down with a cold earlier this week so have been just taking it easy and playing a lot of PS4 to help recuperate...
Day 13 of #inktober2017 had the prompt "Teeming" so I thought I'd start to get a little bit of Halloween in there, not too much, and here's the result.
All drawing and inking was done traditionally but the shadows and highlights were done in #autodesksketchbook.

Day 11 of #inktober2017 done, I was pleased with the linework but the shading didn't go so well, not all that happy with this one but just gotta move on.

#Inktober Day 10 "Gigantic"
Good Day to You!
I took the weekend off as I needed to do some day job work, then have a day of relaxation!
I finished up day 10's #inktober2017 piece this morning, which had the official prompt "Gigantic", I will do the background for this at some point but as it would've been digitally painted whatever the case I've left it with just the inks for now.
Any pictures from this years #inktober that I add more too in the future I'll update their relevant post and add it below the original, though these won't be done for a while as I'm back to being multiple days behind again and back to playing catch up....

#Inktober Day 8 "Crooked"
What Up?
I finally decided to ink this one by hand, I had thought to do it digitally as I was a little wary of messing it up, and then I thought, you now what, this is what #inktober is about, giving things a go and trying out techniques you don't usually use.
So I gave it a go!
I did tidy it up in PS afterwards to finalise it, and I'm thinking of doing a full digital paint over in the future, but as always photos of the finished hand done art can be found on my instagram - https://www.instagram.com/gavinjjary

#Inktober Day 5 "Long"
Hey There!
Day 5 of #inktober2017 done, the official prompt was "Long", so here's my interpretation.
I'm going to try getting day 6 done today as well, then days 7 and 8 tomorrow, so I might have to tone down the details on a few of these so I get more done.
The main point of the challenge is to get some practice in and improve, not do amazing intricate finished pieces, so I should probably try to keep that in mind...lol

Still playing catch up so thought I'd leave this one as is rather than spend ages with the brush markers shading and texturing, I will finish it at some point but in the interest of moving along, and as it is actually finished ink wise, day 4s prompt for the #inktober2017 challenge was "Underwater", and I call this one simply "Jarvis".

Still playing catch up so I'll keep this post short to give me more time to catch up!

I'm now onto doing days 4-7 sketches this morning in the hope that I can get a few of them inked tomorrow and be almost caught up!

Still playing catch up with the #inktober fun times, I could carry on with this one for ages but thought I'd better stop and post it or I'll never get back on schedule!
Day two's official prompt was "Divided"
If anyone's interested in where #inktober comes from there's a link below to Jake Parker's site, he started it back in 2009 as a way to push himself to learn to try out a new tool and it just grew from there.

#Inktober Day One "Swift"
Good day!
I'm giving #inktober a go this year, I'm already a couple of days behind and playing catch up but it's all good and should be on the ball by the end of the week!
Day one
The official prompt for day one was "Swift", and although this is VERY loosely connected, I went with a Boxer, one who is "swift" ie; Nimble, quick, etc.
Not the best interpretation of the prompt but I promise I'll get better as we go....
Same brush pen used as yesterdays post, so links to that can be found there, Letraset Pro Markers used for the shading which can be found via the link below....

Back Again!
Hi Peoples of the Interwebs!
It's been a really long time since I last posted, around 7 months.
I had to concentrate on work related activities, I left my job in April and set up on my own so it's been a lot of work to get everything underway, but now things have calmed down a bit I have time to get back to some artwork!
I picked up some new pens and a Moleskin sketchbook (very nice, first time using them) a few days ago and gave them a little try out yesterday, the resulting sketch is below, inspired by a recent holiday to Mexico and one of my favorite creatures, the Turtle.
Links to the pens used are below incase anyone wants to try them out for themselves, the brush pens are excellent!
I'll be back to posting much more frequently now, so until next time, keep creative!
